Fifteen minutes from Essaouira: what lies around

The surroundings

The estate sits in the landscape typical of the Essaouira region, only minutes from the wild beaches.

The town

A listed medina, a working fishing port, a daily market. Schools, clinics and shops open all year — Essaouira does not empty out off season. It is a town that lives all year round.

The coast

Fifteen minutes away, the great beach of Essaouira: kilometres of sand in a sheltered bay, which you can walk all the way to the medina. Further south the coast turns wilder — Diabat beach and its dunes, Cap Sim, then Sidi Kaouki, a long beach with a handful of cafés. Each beach has its own character, and none is more than half an hour away.

Getting there

Essaouira-Mogador airport is 25 minutes away, with direct flights to a dozen European cities — Paris and Lyon all year, Marseille, Nantes, Bordeaux, Brussels, London, Madrid and Düsseldorf depending on the season.

Marrakech is 2 hr 30 by the main road. Agadir 3 hr. Casablanca 5 hr.

Living in Essaouira all year

The climate here has no extremes: mild winters, summers tempered by the trade winds. The villas are designed accordingly — orientation set by the prevailing winds, thermal and acoustic insulation — to be lived in twelve months a year, not only in summer.
